Nash Estates - Martin Nash

A Tree

It all started back in 2014/15 when I built the first board of this 1:76 scale diorama entitled “To The Manor Burnt”. The same friend who gave me the burning Manor House has also given me the farm buildings, although they were in a totally different configuration when I received them. So, I was confronted with yet another challenge and ‘Nash Estates’ (using my surname) was born!

The stables adjacent to the Manor House have now become Manor Stud. With the farm buildings rearranged on my own baseboard, there is now Manor Farm. It is mainly dairy as you can see from the herd of cows heading for the milking parlour. A few varieties of pigs are kept for supplying the estate and a local butcher.

My friend, Vincent Tweed, often makes suggestions and, also, gives me ideas. (I do the same to him.) He gave me a European style sawmill kit which I have since adapted to suit the British scene. This has become Manor Sawmill. The saw bench was once steam driven but now a Field Marshall tractor powers it by a belt from its pulley. Stacks of timber in various stages of processing are found around the site.

There is a railway link as a Greenline AEC RT is on Railway Relief duty, owing to engineering works on the nearby suburban railway lines.

Please feel free to ask me any questions about this diorama and my modelling ideas and techniques.
